Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect when I come to Xpress Tunnel Wash for a carwash? (top)

Our friendly and professional staff will welcome you and assist you through the entire process.  First, you will drive up to our automatic pay stations that are very user friendly (kind of like an ATM machine).  After paying, you will continue to drive to the entrance of the tunnel, where an attendant is ready to assist you with the easy wash process.  They will guide you onto a conveyor and will then, at the appropriate time, signal you to put your vehicle in neutral, take your foot off the brake, let go of the steering wheel and relax.  Don't worry; it's easy!  Your vehicle receives a gentle foam wash with mild cleansing solutions.  Your wheels and tires will be cleaned and your vehicle will be thoroughly rinsed and air-dried - all automatically, and in about 3 minutes.  After exiting the car wash, you are welcome to use our free vacuums.

What kind of material comes in contact with my vehicle? (top)

At Xpress Tunnel, we use the latest and the best material on the market.  Our material consists of a 2nd generation, special closed cell, NeoGlide Foam cloth that is very gentle on the surface of your car.  Yes, that's right; absolutely no scratching!

We use biodegradable shampoos and cleansers for a spot free and shiny car.

Does Xpress Tunnel take credit cards? (top)

Yes.  We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover.

Do I remain in my car for the duration of the carwash? (top)

Yes.  For this type of carwash and for safety reasons there is no need for you to ever leave your vehicle.  Our carwash uses extensive lighting and open concept glass to create a comfortable, spacious environment.  Just follow the instructions by our attendant, and you are ready to go.

Do you clean the inside of the car? (top)

Xpress Tunnel provides an exterior-only carwash.  However, we do provide free self-service vacuums for your convenience.

Do you recycle your water? (top)

Yes.  We reclaim our water.  Reclaiming water is a process where we take our wastewater and treat it for re-use, rather than discharge it untreated back into the sewer system.

How does Xpress Tunnel save water vs. hand washing at home? (top)

"Automatic and self-service car washes use water efficient equipment, such as computer controlled systems and high-pressure nozzles and pumps, to clean cars thoroughly while conserving water.  Professional car washes use an average of 32 gallons of water per vehicle.  If this sounds like a lot of water, consider this:  Washing your car at home can use up to twice this amount.  In fact, some studies show that washing your car in the driveway can use up to 10 times more water than taking your car to a professional car wash." - (Source - International Car Wash Association)

What type of vehicles can be washed? (top)

Our carwash can accept most standard sized cars, vans and trucks up to 86 inches in height.  We guarantee the safety of all factory-installed equipment in proper working order.  Please contact us if you have any questions regarding your particular vehicle.

Can I safely wash my newly painted automobile? (top)

Yes.  Though different brands of wax differ in quality, waxing has been scientifically proven to harden and protect the car's finish from the ultra-violet rays of the sun.  If used regularly, waxing produces the best appearance your car can have.  Special window and glass waxes also protect the car from wear and tear as well as provide water resistance to rain especially in the front window areas.

If my windshield is cracked, will it be safe to use the carwash? (top)

Yes.  However, it is good to keep in mind that when a windshield is damaged (even with the smallest of chips or cracks), it is more susceptible to quick changes in temperature, (i.e. cold water sprayed on a hot windshield).  So, while you may wash with a cracked windshield, it is always best to repair the damage to avoid the risk.
